Sail Africa is a Non-Profit Public Benefit Organisation (063-968-NPO) with a Section 18 A status, registered with the Department of Social Development since September 2008. Operating out of Boatman Lane, Durban Marina, the sailing area is within the Harbour precinct.

Sail Africa has a history of introducing PDI Youth to the sport of sailing, and to the maritime culture so that some of them through Sail Arica have:

  • Sailed Internationally
  • Been Sailor of the year at the Royal Natal Yacht Club
  • Co-skippered the Cape to Rio
  • Been members of the winning KZN dinghy team
  • Received provincial colours
  • Entered the Maritime Profession as shipping and forwarding clerks
  • Found berths as cadets
  • Are studying toward entering the Maritime profession on vessels

  • Maritime Awareness and curriculum enhancement
  • Day Skippers
  • First Aid
  • Water Safety
  • World Sailing accredited Level 1, Level 2 instructor certificates.
